This policy explains what dibz.ca, run by Plancier Technologies Inc., keeps in your web browser, why, and how you control it. It works alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

In short

We don't use advertising cookies, and there are no third-party advertising or analytics trackers on dibz.ca.
Most of what we keep is essential: it keeps you signed in and remembers your settings.
Usage analytics is optional: it's on unless you turn it off.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Dibz mostly uses your browser's local storage instead, which works the same way for this policy: it's information saved on your device that the site can read back. We call both "cookies" here.

Essential (always on)

These are needed for the site to work, so they can't be turned off. They aren't used to track you across other websites.

Sign-in: your sign-in session, so you stay logged in (and the one-time sign-in step when you use Google).
Your settings: theme, map view and filters, the area you search, homes you're comparing, dismissed tips and messages, open chat windows, and your desktop notification and sound choices.
Speed: a short-lived copy of recently loaded data, so pages open faster.
Your cookie choice: so we don't ask again on every visit.

Usage analytics (optional, on unless you turn it off)

If you browse without an account, we record which pages you open, which homes you look at and when you're asked to join, linked only to a random ID saved in your browser. It contains no name, email, location or anything you type, isn't sold, and isn't used for advertising. It helps us see what's useful and fix what isn't. Choose "Essential only" in the cookie panel, or turn it off in Cookie settings, and nothing more is sent and the random ID is deleted.

When you're signed in, how you use Dibz is covered by the Privacy Policy, including the activity insights you can turn off in More › Account.

Other services the site loads

Mapbox draws the maps. Like any site your browser loads files from, it receives the usual technical information (such as your IP address) and counts map loads.
Google Fonts serves the website's font.
Google handles sign-in only when you choose "Continue with Google".

These services don't set advertising cookies on dibz.ca. Their own privacy policies apply to what they receive.

Your choices

Use Cookie settings (also at the bottom of every page) to turn usage analytics on or off at any time.
You can clear dibz.ca's data in your browser's settings. This signs you out and resets your settings and your cookie choice.
Location and desktop notifications are only used if you allow them in your browser, and can be turned off there at any time.
