Homes for rent in Toronto and the GTA
Find the part of the house you actually want: Dibz keeps upper portions, main floors, basement apartments, whole houses, condos and rooms apart.
Kinds of rentals
Many GTA houses are rented by the floor, so a search for "homes for rent" mixes basement apartments with upper units and whole houses. On Dibz each rental is sorted by the part of the house, from the listing's own details:
- Basement apartments for rent: self-contained units below the main floor, often with a separate entrance
- Upper portion for rent: the upper floors or the main floor of a house, without the basement
- Houses for rent: the whole house to yourself
- Condos for rent: condo apartments and condo townhouses
- Rooms for rent: a room in a shared home, with shared kitchen or bathroom
Pick one or more kinds in the map's Rent filter. 19,221 homes are for rent across the cities we cover as of October 9, 2026.

Before you rent
- Ask how utilities are split between the upper and basement units; many listings charge a percentage.
- Check what's shared: laundry, parking, the yard.
- For a basement apartment, ask about the entrance, ceiling height and windows.
- See the home in person before you pay a deposit. You can book a showing on Dibz.
